Biography

El Crisis & Thunder is a collaborative project between South London trio El Crisis, Chemo and Rami Radi. Influences range from Fela Kuti to Nick Drake, U-Roy to Portishead. Fronted by a vocalist possessing a truly earth-shaking, dynamic and visceral voice.

 

El Crisis & Thunder started work on their debut album in 2010; and with this came a unique sound befitting their wide range of influences, combining captivating vocals, dulcet guitar tones and inventive use of samples and beat making.

 

El Crisis is a vibrant poet, musician and writer.  Possessing a voice of staggering range and depth, he effortlessly crosses over the lyrical dimensions between Folk, Blues, Hip Hop, and Reggae. Crisis is well known on the spoken word circuit as an exponent of his ‘Word, Power and Sound’ vocal style, establishing a reputation as one of the most unique and dynamic voices in poetry.

 

Chemo is a producer best known as one of the leading lights of the UK Hip-Hop scene, having been a major contributor to albums from artists such as Jehst and the Triple Darkness collective.
